When I was struggling with shoulder pain, I found relief by loosening up my tight rotator cuff and lat muscles. Using an exercise ball against the wall and a massage tool helped alleviate the pain significantly once I relaxed those muscles.
These techniques really helped with my pain and hopefully they'll help you. I do recommend seeing a good PT if these don't work and you want more targeted assistance.
