R.I.P - These lifts have been replaced in 2022.
These lifts are situated in a residential block in the city of Olten, Switzerland. They were installed in the late 1960s upon construction of the building. Originally, these lifts were relay controlled innerdoorless lifts with polechanger motors.
In 1998 the lifts were modernised by the original manufacturer, Schindler. Inner doors were added alongside with new W163 machines. The electrical part has been fully replaced: The lifts now run on Miconic SX controllers with D-Series buttons. As for the drive system, no normal Danfoss Variodyn VFD was installed. Instead, the cheaper Barmag VFDs in an open loop configuration were chosen. They are sufficient for the task and thanks to advanced door opening - a standard feature of the Miconic SX - the lifts still run rather efficiently.
