With the huge influx of water into our NSW impoundments over the last 2 years the water level is at an all time high. Copeton dam near Inverell is no exception, I was amazed at how different it looks compared to my last visit when it was at 12% capacity.
This time around we spent our time chasing some big Golden Perch better known as Yellowbelly. Ty Edmonds and Liam Crespo fish the massive waterway on a regular basis and have the goldens pretty well worked out. Using the active target system from Lowrance was a really cool way to understand just what you need to do to temp a really big Yellowbelly to have a crack at your lure!
Like most winters on Copeton it was chilly to say the least, a big thanks to Matt from Camplify for setting up the caravan right on the edge of the waters edge. If your looking to tow your boat and explore a new impoundment and chasing accommodation then the Camplfiy experience is well worth a crack!
