This is a simple and easy to follow demonstration on how to tie a Cow hitch. This knot is one of the best knots you can use for tying on rigging pulleys for lowering large sections of tree. It allows the user to snug the block right up against the trunk, unlike tying a running bowline, and this is a more secure knot than using a knot such as the timber hitch.
