Packing Cube Review: Eagle Creek Pack-It Clean Dry Cube and Specter Set

Описание: Last year, a friend introduced me to something that has absolutely revolutionized the way I pack: the glorious packing cubes. Why did it take me so long to discover these wonderful things? Never mind—the point is, I’m a changed woman. Now, I never pack without them. Not only do they help you pack more clothes in less space, but they keep your suitcase neat and organized, which makes travel that much easier and less stressful.

I have two types of packing cubes, both by Eagle Creek. I have a standard-size Pack-It Clean Dirty Cube (also known as the 2 Sided Cube, or the double sided cube) and a Pack-It Specter Set. Between these four cubes, Jesse and I can usually pack all the clothes we need for just about any length of trip. The Clean Dirty Cube (10” x 13.5”) is double sided, with one side lined in a breathable mesh, and the other side lined with a clear nylon that’s supposed to be waterproof and odor-proof (I’ve not tested either). This one is perfect for keeping things organized. I like to pack tops in one side and pants/skirts in the other—which makes managing my clothes while traveling a breeze. The one downside is that this cube is structured and can be a little bulky. Because it keeps its shape, it's a breeze to use on the road and almost acts like a little drawer for your clothes. But if space is at a premium, the Specter Set can't be beat...

The Specter Set comes in three sizes: large (10” x 14”), medium (10” x 7”), and small (8” x 4”). Extremely lightweight, this set is great for maximizing space without adding bulk to your luggage. I’m always surprised at how much these cubes will pack!

If it’s organization you’re most concerned about, the double-sided cube is your best friend. If it’s space and weight, the Specter Set is the way to go.
