Additional school holidays set for Aidilfitri in 2026 academic calendar

Описание: The Education Ministry has scheduled one to two days of additional holidays in the 2026 Academic Calendar for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations on March 21.

Schools in Group A – Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu – will begin their extra leave on March 19.

Schools in Group B, covering 11 states and the Federal Territories, will enjoy two extra days on March 19 and 20.

The festive break coincides with the Term 1 holidays, giving students a longer rest period: nine days for Group A and nine days for Group B.

Officials say the move will help families plan festive travel and preparations more smoothly.
