Описание: I obtained this rifle along with several others from my step-father that has Alzheimer's. When cleaning out the house for getting it ready to sell I found this and an air-rifle in a back-room closet. He was supposed to have gotten rid of all of his firearms and ammo, but must have forgot about this. His Alzheimer's is now to the point that he cannot tell me anything about this gun. I personally had never heard of the Carcano and had no idea what this was other than a true rifle. The only marking on the gun other than a serial number was the caliber on the rear sight. I did a search on 6.5 mm carbine and found that this is the Italian 1891 Carcano. With a little more research and some YouTube videos I've come to the conclusion that this is a Carcano Moschetto Mod. 1938 in 6.5 x 52mm. Overall, the rifle looks pretty clean. I put a light in the bore and was surprised at how well it looked. This gun is in very good shape. It still had some cosmoline on the bolt and it appears there was some in the chamber that I could not see. I wanted to shoot this thing and ordered some ammo and clips for it. In this video we shoot 24 rounds through it. With the grease still in the chamber the first few rounds were hard to close the bolt on, but this loosened up quickly. The fixed sights are set at 300 meters (approx. 330 yards) so I found that I had to aim well below the target to hit it. What I like about this rifle is that it is a handy little carbine. I plan on taking it apart and giving it a thorough cleaning and shooting it a bit more. It actually has a nice trigger on it and seems to function quite well.
