Blinking Wrench / Spanner / Spanar / Spannar on 2011 Passat B7
Symptom
Blinking Wrench / Spanner
Goes away every time car shut off but come back again after 10 minutes of driving
For my case the case is still drivable without any weird feeling or gear change
Some case car is stuck at a certain gear and not able to drive
Possible Problem
Most common is the Mechatronic unit
Gearbox internal got issues
Extremely worn out clutch
Cost of repair
For my case is the Mechatronic unit on its way out. Change a recond unit for arounf RM3500 including labout here in Malaysia
Conclusion
Delimma. In my case the car seems to be working fine. But not sure for how long. Is your choice to risk or to get it fix immediately.
