EAST TAWAS, Mich. — Michigan is looking for the next Tawas Point Lighthouse keepers. Applications are being accepted now.
The lighthouse is located in Tawas Point State Park. That’s on the east side of the state right above the thumb.
Lighthouse keepers greet visitors, lead tours and perform basic facility maintenance.
Keepers should apply in teams of four.
You have to be 18 or older and be able to climb 85 steps.
The total commitment is about 30 hours a week, leaving plenty of time to enjoy some recreational activities, too.
If you’re wondering how much this pays: It costs $250 per person for the two-week stay.
