The encounter comes just days after security agencies uncovered three terrorist hideouts in the same region, highlighting continued infiltration and militant activity along Jammu’s border districts. Meanwhile, another major counter-terror operation is ongoing in the upper reaches of Kishtwar, where security forces have been searching forest areas for the third consecutive day.

Earlier in Kishtwar, a gunfight led to the death of an Indian Army paratrooper and injuries to seven others, mostly due to a grenade attack. Senior police, CRPF and army officials are supervising the operations on ground as forces remain on high alert across the region.
