Wildlife scientist Vanessa Pirotta weighs in on the “awful interaction” of a teenager being attacked by a shark at a popular Sydney harbour “unnetted” beach right by Neilson Park.
“While this has happened, we just need to wait for experts to identify the species of shark,” Ms Pirotta told Sky News Australia.
“We do know through research done … it is showing us that these animals [bull sharks] do come into our harbour around this time of year.
“The idea of heavy rainfall may bring with changes in the marine environment.”
