A new law creates a position that diverts authority from Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. The district attorney called the move an “attack on democracy.” Republican lawmakers maintain the measure is needed to prosecute crimes they say aren’t being pursued. Carlos Vega, a former assistant district attorney in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, tells NewsNation host Dan Abrams the move was a “long time coming.”
