Wicked is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. The original production of Wicked premiered on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre in October 2003. The success of the Broadway production has spawned many productions worldwide, now including a two-part film!
I have a personal connection to the series, as I saw it in 2019 at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City! I have always been a fan of The Wizard of Oz. It’s one of my favorite childhood movies, which translated to my adulthood as well! I remember being absolutely starstruck throughout it. When the first part of the film came out, I rushed to theatres to watch it! I love this series and am so happy to be playing this music for you today!
This solo piano is full of arrangements of ten tunes from Wicked: As Long as You're Mine, Dancing Through Life, Defying Gravity, For Good, I'm Not That Girl, No One Mourns the Wicked, Popular, What Is This Feeling?, The Wizard and I, and Wonderful.
