We went bottom fishing out of La Push, Washington, in the Pacific Ocean. We were looking for large Lingcod, and hopefully, a giant one.
We launched the boat, and the weather in the pacific northwest was perfect. We had no clouds, almost zero wind, and the swells were only about two feet high. We went to the fishing grounds about ten miles offshore over a large rock pile.
We were fishing with artificial lures like pipe jigs, plastics with lead heads, and even some dead herring.
The fishing was on fire, and we caught easy limits of big Lingcod and even managed to land a 49-inch, 40-pound Lingcod.
There were large schools of Yellowtail rockfish around us all day, but we did not target them.
We were back to the dock by 1:30 in the afternoon and back home by 4:00 PM that evening. I can't wait to get back out there again!
