One of the main things that prevents people travelling independently is a fear of not being able to get a job -- but it IS possible to get work all over the world, if you have the right attitude.
In this video I talk to Lesley Hanney who tells her story: she started work at the age of 14 on a sewing machine, and this helped build her confidence about getting work abroad.
Lesley went to Australia when she went travelling and got work as a charity fundraiser, then she got into fashion/fabric work and eventually she got into therapy. This is her story/experience.
I think the most important piece of advice are to knock on doors and to seize any opportunity.
