Chris Runde is a key leader in driving innovation for the commercial aviation industry. His career combines investing and innovation with a keen sense of where technology is headed next. Currently, Chris is the Senior Director of Strategic Development at CGH Technologies.
Prior to his current role, Chris held numerous executive, aviation focused positions in the public and private sectors. He’s led initiatives in airport biometric credentialing, the first deployment of TSA PreCheck, was selected as a core member of TSA’s Risk-based Security team, and worked for a venture-backed startup.

Meet Chris Runde, Senior Director of Business Strategy at CGH Technologies, a consulting firm specializing in innovative solutions for government and private sector clients. Chris is known as the aviation industry’s go to when complex problems need solutions. His expertise spans a full range of issues and stakeholders from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and even to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Prior to joining CGH Technologies, Chris launched and ran the Airport Innovation Accelerator at the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). There he worked across airports, airlines, government, and industry innovators to deploy emerging solutions and cultivate the innovation community. Prior to the Accelerator, he led the government and transportation vertical for a venture-based security software company. In his Federal role at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Chris led numerous key initiatives including the Screening Gateway, ACIS (airport biometric credentialing), insider threat mitigation, and the first deployment of PreCheck as a core member of the Risk-based Security team.
Chris has a Bachelors of Science in System Engineering from the University of Virginia and resides in the DC/Baltimore.
