Lympne Airport, Kent.
M/S of a girl arriving at the airport in a great old car. She leaves the car, waves to someone with a smile and walks off. M/S of the girl walking towards a bald man leaning over small aeroplane with a map spread on it. M/S of the man talking to the girl while showing something on the map. Woman nods and leaves and another man comes to be briefed. C/U shot of the men's faces as they talk. C/U shot of the map as the man's hands showing the route - presumably.
The girl is a model and air photographer Jean Ball. She works for "one of Britain's most unusual flying concerns - one that carries out such duties as coastal surveys, and photographing ships in the Channel, for ship owners, marine societies and newspapers all over the world." The team was founded by former RAF (R.A.F. Royal Air Force) photographer Ronald Gott and Wing Commander Hugh Kennard.
M/S of a man with funny beard looking at some stills - a guideline for the next photo shoot. Ms Ball comes to have a look. She has a huge camera in her hands. High angle C/U shot of one of the stills - a ship in the ocean. Low angle M/S of the faces of Ms Ball and the man with funny beard looking at the stills. C/U shot of another still of a boat in the ocean.
M/S of Ms Ball and the pilot (a man briefed over the map) entering the plane. M/S of the two in the plane ready to take off. M/S of the aeroplane (from the outside) as a man turns propeller and engine starts working. L/S of the plane taking off.
Panoramic shot (from the plane) of the sea coast. C/U of the pilot's face while looking at a sailing ship underneath. C/U shot of Ms Ball taking photographs of the ship. L/S of the aeroplane flying over the ship. Several shots of the plane circling around the ship while Ms Ball takes photographs.
