Tapering your beadwork is one of those techniques that can up your level in the presentation category. It looks like you are an expert even if you are only a beginner. And the great news is… This is a skill/technique anyone can accomplish, even if you are a beginner!
I want to clarify, just like in the tutorial, this is what I refer to as a “Full Taper”.** Meaning I am not just tapering my work a few rows, I am tapering all the way down to 1 (or 2) beads!
Now that may have confused you.. 1 OR 2 beads? Yes! When you are beading with an ODD number of beads in each regular row, you will be able to taper down to just 1 bead. On the flip side if you are beading with an EVEN number of beads in each regular row, then the lowest number of beads you will be able to taper down to is 2 beads.
** I will be posting a tutorial on, what I call, a “Partial” Taper. So be sure to keep an eye out for that!
** The terms “Full” Taper & “Partial” Taper are not technical, definitional bead loom terms that I am aware of! These are just the names I have given this specific technique, so it’s easier for you to understand what I’m referring to!
