PART 3- This is a train of New York City model R32 subway cars. MTA New York City Transit is well into the acquisition of the latest model R211 subway cars. The R179s and R211s have replaced the R32 models which date back from the Sixties. The R32s are slowly being removed from the property and sold for scrap. Some cars have been preserved.
In this film, 12 cars are being brought from the exchange track with the South Brooklyn Railway near 39th Street down to the Brooklyn Army Terminal and 65th Street Yard where there is a car float. The operator of this line and the car float is NYNJ Rail. 
Upon arrival at 65th Street Yard, the subway cars are usually separated from their trucks(bogies) and the car bodies are loaded onto specialized flatcars. Those in turn, are then floated across Upper New York Bay to Greenville, NJ. From there, it goes to the scrappers.
