Описание: Triora (Triêua in ligure) è un comune italiano di 420 abitanti della provincia di Imperia in Liguria. Il territorio comunale è il maggiore della provincia imperiese.
Il comune è situato nella Valle Argentina ed il suo territorio comunale è il più esteso della provincia imperiese. Il territorio comunale ha fatto parte della Comunità Montana Argentina Armea fino al 1° gennaio 2009 quando con legge regionale n° 24 del 4 luglio 2008 il territorio triorese è stato confluito nella nuova Comunità Montana Imperia 2 a seguito del riordino delle comunità montane. Il centro principale (Triora) sorge a 780 m s.l.m. sulle estreme pendici meridionali di un costone montuoso che digrada dal massiccio del Saccarello verso la stretta conca di fondovalle percorsa dal torrente Argentina. Triora dista da Imperia circa 47 km.
A causa dell'altitudine e della relativa distanza dalla costa, Triora ha un clima prevalentemente montano, con escursioni diurne accentuate. Il freddo invernale, comunque, non è mai eccessivo, soprattutto perché il borgo, esposto a mezzogiorno e in pendio, risente del buon soleggiamento diurno e non subisce l'effetto dell'inversione termica di fondovalle; l'alta bastionata montuosa che chiude a nord l'alta valle Argentina, con altitudini uniformemente superiori ai 2000 m, la ripara poi dai venti settentrionali provenienti dalla val Padana, che portano pioggia e nevicate nelle zone vicine dell'alta val Tanaro.
Al comune è stata conferita nel 2007 la Bandiera Arancione dal Touring Club Italiano, ed è considerato uno dei borghi liguri più belli.
Dopo un periodo di pace dal XV al XVI secolo, dove si costruirono chiese e altre opere d'arte, la storia locale di Triora testimonia dei famosi processi di stregoneria compiuti dal 1587 al 1589.
Alcune femmine locali vennero accusate di essere le artefici delle continue pestilenze, piogge acide, uccisione di bestiame e addirittura di cannibalismo verso bambini in fasce.
I documenti dei processi ed i verbali di interrogatorio sono attualmente conservati presso l'Archivio di Stato di Genova. Le condanne per presunte stregonerie causarono la morte al rogo di diverse fanciulle ed addirittura anche di un ragazzo.
Ancora oggi il paese è noto per i suoi processi che scatenarono successivamente uguali reazioni anche in altri borghi liguri e italiani.

Triora (Trieu in ligure) is an Italian town of 420 inhabitants of the province of Imperia in Liguria. The district is the largest province of Imperia.
The town is located in the Valle Argentina and its territory is the largest province of Imperia. The district was part of the Montana Argentina Armea until 1 January 2009, when Law No. 24, 4 July 2008 the territory was triorese which became the new Mountain Community Imperia 2 following the reorganization of the mountain communities. The main center (Triora) rises to 780 m asl on the extreme southern slopes of a mountain ridge that slopes down from the massif of Saccarello basin close to the bottom of the river traveled by Argentina. Triora from Imperia is about 47 km.
Due to the altitude and its distance from the coast, Triora has a predominantly mountainous climate, with marked diurnal excursions.
