Bojerka takes its name from the Serbian word `boj` (pronounced `boy`), which carries layered meanings — including colour, ornament, and marking, as well as battle in older usage. In this urban dance, intensity once associated with conflict is transformed into elegance and style, expressing identity through colour, movement, and refined presence rather than force.
