Leaves in Your Chick Brooder for Compost & Soil Amendment

Описание: I highly recommend using leaves in your chicken brooder. Pine shavings are great, and we use those as well, but they cost money. Leaves are gardener’s gold. Let the chicken scratch them and break them down to increase surface area, and add manure. Also, whatever food they do not eat will become part of the ready-to-compost mixture.  you can compost this litter, and/or add to your growing containers, hugelkultur beds and your garden beds. Give it at least two or three months to break down so that the soil microbiology can make the nutrients bioavailable to your plants.
