We all seek out enduring friendships. Someone to hold your hand through thick and thin and humans aren't the only species who enjoy these bonds.
We often see firm friendships form in our bats in care and it is not unusual to find a couple of juvis who have bonded and spend all their time together.
Inter species friendships are not uncommon either which makes sense when Blacks and Grey-headed flying-foxes sometimes roost in the same colony.
The pair in the video are soon to be released back to the wild and how much better to have a friend by your side during a somewhat testing time.
Do these friendships remain following release? We don't know for sure but it stands to reason that they would endure for at least some time in the wild.
