Makkal : Makkal is the story of a mother's un ending love towards her children.
Madhavan and Saraswathi have three children. Ajith, Sunanda and Gopakumar. They are married and living happily. Madhavan and Saraswathi lives in Kalathil tharavadu with Mahesh, an orphan. Even though he is adopted madahavn and sarawathi consider him as their own son. 
Sarawathi has an elder brother, prasannakumar, lives in Mumbai. She married to mythili, a high society lady actually it's his second marriage. His wife died long before. He was against second marriage. But relatives compelled him to re marry to take care his daughter devika.
Devika is a young woman now. She studies in college. Her relation with step mother mythili is not cordial. She consider sarawathi as her real mother.
