To ensure a fair probe into the lapses, ONGC has suspended 3 officers involved in the barge sink catastrophe. As per reports, 86 people died after 2 vessels sank in the sea in May, hit by Cyclone Tauktae. In the Tauktae aftermath, an inquiry is being conducted on the matter. As per the latest reports, 5 vessels were in the sea associated with an ongoing ONGC shipment. These vessels were left stranded in the Arabian sea as the cyclonic storm hit. The ONGC has states that the suspension does not lead to the admission of guilt by the officials but only to ensure that a fair and free investigation can be conducted.
