This ride is located at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, England UK.
Rita (Queen of Speed) is an Intamin Accelerator Coaster located in the Dark Forest at Alton Towers, next to newer ride Th13teen (and used to be next to Corkscrew). It launches from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds, with a maxiumum height of 69ft. It is similar to Stealth at Thorpe Park, except it does twists and turns rather than going up vertical and coming straight back down. Alton Towers have not revealed why it is called Rita, but some people suggest that it stands for 'Alton Towers Intamin Rocket' backwards.
REVIEW: This ride is really good, and worth the queing. It is also good that the launch is more powerful than it looks. Although this ride does not have much theming, and that it is unclear as to why it is given its name, it is a fantastic experience.
