Many get through all india counselling and the most get through their respective state counselling. The third option is to get through stray counselling which happens in the medical college itself. Lets see brief introduction about all these options available.

tudents and parents can see last year neet cut off which will help them to predict their chances for getting a particular medical college in the current year based on their All India Rank, State Rank and Community Rank.

Most common way to predict your chance to get into a particular medical college is by comparing your neet score with last year neet score cut off of that college. Eventhough it gives a very rough estimate, the accuracy is less.
Every year NEET score cut off vary significantly because of difficulty level of the question paper and number of sincere students appearing for the NEET exam. The difficulty level of the exam varies every year. Last year neet question was very easy so the cut off went up above 580 for all india quota. during 2018 the question paper difficulty level was moderate so the cut off was close to 540. So neet score is not the correct way to predict your chance to get into a medical college.

If neet score is not accurate. what else can we use?

We recommend to use All India Rank cut off instead of neet score. When it comes to All India rank cut off, the only thing which affects the cut off is the total number of seats. You can predict your chance to get a medical college based on the last year all india rank cut off and number of seats increased this year for both all india counselling as well as state counselling.

For state counselling, we have been suggesting students to use state rank if they belong to open category or their community rank if they have reservation.

Using community rank to compare the cut off provides the best accurate prediction over state rank cut off. state rank cut off provides better prediction than All India rank cutoff and all india rank cut off provides better prediction than neet score cut off.
