For Honor - How to Spend Steel - When Should You Buy Crates - Steel Spending Guide

Описание: Today we're going to be talking quickly about buying packs in for honor. How we should spend our steel and what should we buy with our steel. Is Champion Status Worth it? yes it is.

Let's summarize quickly - in case you aren't sure how this all works. Your character has gear that they can use in any of the 4v4 game modes. This adds extra customization and allows you to focus on building for specific stats etc. I won't go over the stats I recommend in this video, but keep an eye out for that later for each hero.

At the end of each match, you might find some gear and you'll earn some steel along with your XP. Steel is the currency that is used to purchase packs, buy champion status, etc. You can also purchase steel at the instore shop. Now don't worry - paying for steel simply provides a shortcut. You can't get anything exclusive or get any overpowered weapon through simply buying steel. Some people might not like this being in the game - but I personally don't mind it.

Now the most important part of this is that the gear you receive is specifically tailored to the hero you're playing. This goes for contracts and orders as well. Whatever hero you're playing is the one to receive the rewards when you finish a contract so you need to pay close attention. Also, the gear is attached to the reputation level of your hero. There are 3 pieces of armor and 3 pieces to your weapons. At each rep stage from 1 to 3 you'll find different gear available to you. At rep 3, you'll be able to receive the highest quality gear in the game.

Essentially, what you're going to need to do to get the gear in a reasonable time is save all of your steel until your rep 3. Now personally I bought 2 packs of gear with steel at each rep level just to give me a bit of a boost into the next tier of rep. That steel would be better used at rep 3, but I wanted to get some stuff to make the playing experience a bit more enjoyable while I was leveling in Dominion

at rep 3 you'll be seeing purples drop out of crates. You will occasionally get them for rewards for completing matches and leveling up as well. Once you've got a piece of gear that looks the way you want it to look and has the stats you want, you'll need to invest steel and salvage for that faction to upgrade it. This is why its important to have champion status so you have lots of salvage. At rep 3, each gear piece can be level 18. This may mean you need to upgrade each piece of gear 3 or 4 times. As you can imagine, that will get expensive as hell.

That's why its so important to horde steel until rep 3, assuming the gear is something you want to bother with. If you mainly play dominion I am going to guess that you care a lot about the gear :)
