秋元薫 (Kaoru Akimoto) - Dress Down【Bass Covers, day-636】　ベース・カバー演奏

Описание: 秋元薫さんの唯一のアルバム「Cologne」（1986年）から、武部聡志さんの編曲によるディスコ・ブギー曲、A面3曲目の『Dress Down』をベースでカバー演奏しました。

2010年代の海外でのアルバム再評価がきっかけとなって、日本では2016年にアルバムが再発。2017年は、この曲と『我がままなハイヒール』の2曲が入ったシングルがリリースされたとのこと。
2曲とも、太いシンセ・ベースの音がフロアを揺らすディスコ・ブギー曲に仕上がっています。1986年というと、マハラジャやエリア、キング＆クイーンあたりのハコが盛り上がっていた頃でございますね。

このアルバムで美久月千晴さんがベーシストとしてクレジットに記載されていますが、『Dress Down』ではエレクトリック・ベースの音は聴こえず、武部さんや松本晃彦さんが弾くシンセ・ベースが使われていると思います。
私は4弦のエレクトリック・ベースにエレハモのベース・マイクロシンセを繋いで、シンセ・ベース音を模して弾きました。
この曲のような細かい音符のフレーズは、一般的にシンセ・ベース・エフェクターは低域の音を中心に誤作動しやすく、弾くのが難しいのです。エレハモのこのエフェクターは、結構追随性が良く、うまく効いてくれています。2:54から3:05あたりの音価の短いフレーズを聴いてみてください。

原曲のトラックをiPadからYAMAHA AG03 MK2経由でミキサーのYAMAHA MG12に入力。その再生音を聴きながらベースを同時に演奏し、D.I.出力をミキサーに入力。ミックス出力をZOOM Q8n-4Kに入力し、演奏の画像と音声をリアルタイムで同時収録しました。

I covered the disco boogie track “Dress Down” (track 3 on side A), arranged by Satoshi Takebe, from Kaoru Akimoto's only album “Cologne” (1986) on bass.

Following its reappraisal overseas in the 2010s, the album was reissued in Japan in 2016. In 2017, a single was released featuring this track and “Wagamama na High Heels.”
Both songs are disco boogie numbers, with thick synth bass sounds shaking the dance floor. 1986 was the era when clubs like Maharaja, Area, and King & Queen were thriving.

While Chiharu Mikuzuki is credited as the bassist on this album, I don't hear electric bass on ‘Dress Down’. I believe the synth bass played by Mr. Takebe or Akihiko Matsumoto is used instead.
I connected an Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro-Synth to my 4-string electric bass and played to mimic the synth bass sound.
Phrases with rapid, short notes like in this song are generally tricky to play with synth bass effects, as they tend to malfunction, especially in the lower frequencies. This Electro-Harmonix effect has surprisingly good tracking and works well. Listen to the short-note phrases around 2:54 to 3:05.

The original track was input from an iPad via a YAMAHA AG03 MK2 into the YAMAHA MG12 mixer. While listening to the playback, I simultaneously played bass, inputting the D.I. output into the mixer. The mixer's mix output was input into the ZOOM Q8n-4K, allowing simultaneous real-time recording of both the performance video and audio.
