This piece has recently been listed on the ABRSM syllabus (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). It’s brilliant to think that lots more people will be introduced to this beautiful piece! 🎵 … a bit of a story behind how I originally discovered this music:

I was lucky enough to study classical saxophone with Richard Ingham at music college and, during one of our lessons, he produced a tape (oh, the nostalgia) of the pieces we were learning for recital that year. He had filled one side with my programme and had filled the other side with varied inspirational music… such as lots of Bach.. and everyone knows how I feel about that 😂

However, he found himself with a few extra minutes at the end (and back in the day it was a heinous crime not to use every last minute of space), so he dug through the rest of his vinyl and found the Damase Vacances to be just the right length to tack onto the end. The rest Is history, and I’ve been in love with this gorgeous piece ever since 🎷 🎹
