Smash and grab burglaries target Vegas trading card shops

Описание: A series of early-morning smash-and-grab burglaries targeting trading card shops across the Las Vegas Valley has owners concerned about safety as the value of collectible cards continues to climb.

Security camera footage from Collecting Dust shows two people breaking through the front glass of the store before rushing toward display cases filled with high-value trading cards.

“I think for any of these hobby shops or collectible spaces, it’s always something in the back of your mind,” said Jacob Rivera, general manager at Collecting Dust.

Matthew Bosek, a manager at the shop, said break-ins are an ongoing concern for businesses in the industry.

“It’s bound to happen,” Bosek said. “Someone’s going to try to break into it.”
