The Boys Without CGI Effects

Описание: It wouldn’t be a superhero show if there wasn’t some epic CGI involved - at least not any superhero shows we’ve seen before! The team behind The Boys actually did a ton of the stunts practically, doing the majority of the action for real on set - but the CG that was used was integral to making the show really shine.
Ok, so laser eyes? Those are definitely courtesy of VFX - and so too was the damage they did on other actors' faces - In combination with some very gruesome prosthetics.
Any fans of the show will know what we’re talking about when we bring up the scene that features a whale… yes THAT whale. The process behind building it all was extensive - featuring full previsual tests done, filming in a green screen studio, and a partial whale for Chace Crawford to ride AND - a fully built, practical whale - organs, blood, and all. The majority of the stunt was actually filmed practically, with CG adding the finishing touches to make the scene really pop.
When buildings were exploding, they avoided doing too much real harm but building the settings up from scratch via CG - including practical building elements so that when it was time for them to explode, they would look as realistic as possible. Speaking of which - there was a special detail added with CG to look like a camera effect to help ground the show even more.
Need a boat? Well, launching one out of the water can be a bit intense - so a minimal build stood in its place while CG made the boat what it was. This superhero show has CGI playing a super role - and it does so well!
