In this segment of Sentimentally Speaking, I unpack the power and price of control. My friend Mel sits with me and asks me the tough questions about why I cling to it, what it protects and whether I'm willing to let it go.
In my mind I see control as my constant companion, my greatest defense and in some ways my biggest interference. I never really stopped to think about why I possess it so tightly or reflected on how it has shaped my life. In this episode I was forced to face the harsh reality of what could happen if I finally decide to release the behavior.
If I'm being honest, control has been my compass and my cage. Maybe it's time I finally go off the beaten path and set myself free.
