Setting up Header Menu and social icons for Blaskan theme

Описание: In this video, I'm going to take you step by step on how to edit and modify header menu navigation and social icons for Blaskan theme.

Let’s get started. First, navigate to your WordPress dashboard then go to appearance and select customize.
You will be redirected to this page here where you can access the menu options.

Click on it to open. Blasken supports 3 menus, primary which is used on the header, footer – which is used at the bottom of your site and social icons which is used on top of your website.

First, let’s start by adding the primary menus which will appear on your sites header. Click on ‘add a menu’. We will name it ‘main’ then click on ‘create menu.’ Next, we will need to add items to this menu. To do this, click add items.

This will open a new list of items that you can add to your menu. You can add custom links, pages, posts, categories, tags and more.

Click on the down arrow under the option that you want to add to your site. In this video, we will add pages so I will click on pages. I will then click on the ones that I want to add. Once I am done picking the pages that I want from the existing list, I will proceed and add a new page that tells visitors who we are. I will name this ‘about us’ by typing in on the box here and clicking on the add button. You can add as many pages and items as you want based on your preferences. Once done, check on the ‘primary’ box for the display location.
Click on the back arrow to go back.

We will then add the second menu which is the footer. So in this case, I will name it footer and click on create menu. On the new window. I will add contact us page. I will then add a new page and name it ‘News feed.’ Like the main menu, you can add as many pages as you can. Once done, check on ‘footer’ for the display location.

Lastly, lets add menu for social media by clicking on ‘add a menu.’ I will name this social and click ‘add menu.’ Let’s proceed and add social media icons by clicking on ‘add items.’ For this one we will use custom links. We will first create a instagram icon. On the URL box, type in Instagram.com or paste a link you copied from your page then type ‘instagram’ for the link text. Click ‘add to menu.’ I will repeat the same process to add snapchat, facebook and any other social media I want new visitors to find us.

All items that you add will appear under the new social menu.

You can customize how you want your pages to open when one clicks by clicking on the down arrow to expand the item and checking the box here ‘open in a new tab.’ Also, you can change the link URL and add description as well. Click remove to remove the page from your website.

Finally, check on the social box on display location. Social icons will display on your websites top right.

Once done, save your changes and publish.

You can preview your site with the new menu once you are done making the changes. Congratulations, you have completed customizing your website menu and social icons for Blaskan wordpress theme.
