Liton Kumar Das spent the last year like a dream after leaving the bad times behind. He silenced the critics by showing extraordinary consistency. He is even thought of as a future captain. If Shakib Al Hasan does not agree, Liton Das may be seen as the ODI captain in the Asia Cup and even the World Cup.



Litton's current form is standing in the way of that idea.
Liton was dropped after playing only one match in the last IPL. There was a lot of criticism about that. But his fifty in seven innings of eight matches in Canada's Global Twenty20 League! Beyond that, he reached thirty once, and managed to go into twenty once.


Lytton's runs are arranged as follows—9, twenty-one, twenty-five, sixty-nine, ten, sixteen, and twelve. Among them, Liton Das was himself in an innings of sixty-nine runs off only forty-five balls. He was not found in the rest.

The highest score is 70. But it was Liton who averaged 52.45 in ODIs last year. Chandika Haturasinghe will surely find a way to get Liton back in the running before the two big tournaments.

Liton's form ahead of big events like Asia Cup and World Cup is making cricket experts think.
