Описание: This ancient alms hall is located in the section between the Ethpokuna and the Samadhi statue in front of the Abhayagiri Dagaba and the temple which is about 5 km away from Anuradhapura city. Remains of four faces of constructions from the first century BC have been discovered in this Refectory. Which is also mentioned in the tenth century Abhayagiriya inscription in king Kassapa V. Chinease Monk Fa Hien in the fifth century A.D. mentions that 5000 Buddhist monks resided at Abhayagiriya. The stone canoe of 19 meter length exceeds the capacity of 5000 alms bowl. A sun dial, kitchen, store rooms, and underground stone conduits supplying water to the building are also visible at hear.
