Unfair Consultative Evaluation: What are Your Options to Object?

Описание: Most Social Security disability applicants are sent out for a “independent” medical evaluation with a medical provider on SSA’s consultative evaluation panel. If your claim involves physical limitations you will most likely be sent to an industrial clinic doctor for a one time visit, and if your claim involves mental health issues you will be sent to a psychologist for a one time evaluation.

These consultative evaluations are not intended to provide treatment; instead they are used by Social Security to develop your claims file and to help the disability decision maker understand more about the work activity limitations that apply in your case.

In this video, I discuss how I prepare my clients for their appointments and how I deal with unfavorable consultative evaluations. There are several effective tactics we can use to convince the judge to give little or no weight to a damaging consultative evaluation if we properly prepare for that possibility.
