A poor young woman married a man from high society. Dinner parties and etiquette rules were alien to her and she felt like an outcast when she was in the company of her husband’s friends. Despite that, her husband was madly in love with her.
But other women from his group of friends instantly disliked “Cinderella” and never missed an opportunity to embarrass her and put her down. And while their antics seemed relatively harmless at first, the thing that happened in the theater crossed the line and brought into question our heroine’s self-respect and life with her beloved husband.
