Former National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, has paid tribute to the late MK operative, diplomat, trade unionist, teacher and ANC stalwart - Gertrude Shope - at her memorial service in Irene, Centurion. Mapisa-Nqakula said Shope was a remarkable leader. ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has hailed Gertrude Shope as a revolutionary. He says the ANC stalwart will be remembered for her firm stand for justice and the liberation of the oppressed.
