Never Make This Travel Mistake (BALI FAIL)

Описание: Doing this almost ruined my Bali trip! This is one of the worst mistakes you can make when traveling. This was by far the most challenging and stressful day of my trip to Bali. I was warned about doing this before coming to Indonesia and I still forgot and make the stupidest mistake while traveling.
While I tried to keep a positive attitude about losing my debit card, I knew it could have serious consequences. Luckily I learned that if you leave your card in an ATM in Bali, Indonesia, that the machine will suck up your card to protect it. This prevents theives from making fraudulent charges on your account. PLUS if you have to cancel your card that could mean cutting off your own finacial access and leaving you with no money on your trip. Here are some things you can do to avoid making this same mistake:
1) keep extra cards on your from other places (credit cards, etc) this will save you lose one card
2) keep cards in different locations. I kept one in my bag, one in my wallet, and one locked up back at my home stay. This way if you lose one or a bag or wallet gets stolen you aren't lsoing everything.
3) put at least one card on file with the Grab app and also on the GoJek app. This will help you by being able to charge to your card to hire scooters, rides, in cars, food delivery , and more. It was a fantastic safety net.
4) Beware of ATM skams. There are fake ATMS that skim your info and take your card and/or your money. They are also skams where people claim to be able to get your card back for a fee. They can't. Take the loss and move on.
5) Carry cash everywhere. You can take out up to 1.5 million IDR from most ATMs. I always pulled the max amount just in case and it saved me in the end. Plus many places prefer cash with exact change. It also saves you international transaction fees on your card if you don't have a bank or credit card that does that for free.
