With water levels receding in some parts of flood-hit New South Wales, the extent of the devastation is becoming much clearer. Authorities estimate around 10,000 properties have been damaged and many communities are still isolated.
Weather conditions have been easing, giving more residents a chance to return to their homes and businesses. However, dozens of emergency level warnings remain in place.
