I’ve been driving electric for over 10 years now and have owned several EVs during that time. For the past 4 years, I’ve been daily driving the MG4 EV and covered over 40,000 miles — so this isn’t just another launch event video. This is a proper MG4 owner review and long-term perspective.

In this video, I take the MG4 2026 and the MG4 Urban 2026 out for a real-world MG4 2026 test drive and share my honest thoughts. This is my MG4 2026 review from someone who knows the strengths and weaknesses of the MG4 EV after years of ownership.

The new MG4 2026 model brings noticeable changes. Interior build quality feels improved, both displays are now larger, and a heat pump is finally standard — which should help with winter MG4 EV range. The facelifted MG4 2026 UK lineup now focuses on trims like Comfort, Premium and Long Range, replacing the old SE structure. It remains rear-wheel drive, and fast charging can go up to around 157 kW depending on battery version.

The MG4 Urban (also referred to as MG MG4 Urban or MG4 EV Urban) is front-wheel drive and comes with two battery options — 43 kWh and 54 kWh. It also now includes a heat pump as standard. DC charging is slower compared to the MG4 2026, topping out around 87 kW. So in this MG4 urban vs MG4 2026 comparison, charging speed and drivetrain layout are key differences.

Boot space is another interesting point. The MG4 offers around 388 litres, while the MG4 Urban 2026 claims approximately 580 litres — although that measurement is taken up to the window line. In reality, it’s very deep, but not quite as massive as the headline number might suggest.
