The forecast is calling for up to 25 centimeters today… and another 25 tomorrow. That’s already a serious amount of snow—we don’t wait until it piles up to deal with it.
So today, we’re getting a head start.
The Kubota LX2620 and the Kubota 2963 are fired up and ready to go. When a storm like this is on the way, timing is everything. Clearing early means less strain on the machines, cleaner passes, and a whole lot less trouble later on.
Right now, conditions are manageable. The snow is still light, still workable—but you can already see it starting to build. This is that window of opportunity… before things really turn.
The Kubota LX2620 handles tight areas with precision, while the Kubota 2963 moves serious volumes of snow. Together, they make quick work of what would otherwise become a much bigger job if left untouched.
And while we’re out here, I wanted to answer a question from a subscriber about the chute rotation on the LX2963 snowblower.
As you can see, the chute offers a wide range of rotation—giving you the flexibility to direct snow exactly where you want it. Whether you're casting it far off to the side or keeping it controlled in a confined space, that range really makes a difference. All this without getting off the seat to adjust the deflector.
But just as important as the deflector., adjusting the height and angle lets you fine-tune how far the snow is thrown. Lower for short, controlled discharge… or higher to launch it well clear of the area.
When you're working in tight locations like this, it’s all about precision. Being able to manipulate both chute rotation and deflector angle means you can avoid blowing snow back into cleared areas—or into places you don’t want it.
It’s a small detail—but it makes a big difference when conditions get tricky.
You can feel the storm settling in. The kind that doesn’t just pass through—but sticks around and keeps coming.
And as it turns out… this was just the beginning.
After filming, the forecast changed—and not by a little.
What was expected to be a decent snowfall quickly escalated into something much more significant.
Now they’re calling for 30 to 50 centimeters of snow from Sunday into Monday night… along with wind gusts reaching 30 to 50 kilometers per hour… and to make things even more challenging—substantial freezing rain.
That combination—heavy snow, wind, and ice—can turn an ordinary clearing job into a real test of equipment… and patience.
Which makes getting ahead of it like this even more important.
Every pass made now is one less struggle later.
Because when a storm like this hits at full force… you don’t want to be starting from scratch.
You want to be ready for it.
