SC Takes Serious Note Of NCERT Book Controversy | Judiciary Corruption Chapter Banned

Описание: A major controversy has erupted over the Class 8 Social Science textbook published by NCERT, after it included a chapter on “corruption in the judiciary.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly expressed strong displeasure during a Cabinet meeting, questioning what students were being taught and who monitors such content.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reacted by withdrawing the textbook from circulation, promising action against officials responsible, and assuring that such mistakes will not be repeated.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of India has taken a serious view of the issue. The Chief Justice refused to accept an unconditional apology from NCERT, banned the controversial chapter, ordered seizure of all copies, and prohibited any reprinting or digital circulation.

Show-cause notices have been issued to the Education Ministry Secretary and NCERT Director, with a full investigation underway.
