After the first cuts on the Oxman CNC revealed a few issues, it was time to properly dial the machine in. In this episode I improve dust control with a 3D-printed dust shoe and align the spindle using a printed tramming tool.
The dust shoe design I used was created by the YouTube channel @sparks-tech — you can see the original design and explanation here: • I present the Dust Docker Dust Boot
Tramming the spindle made a noticeable difference in accuracy, and the new dust shoe keeps the chips under control during surfacing. With these adjustments the Oxman CNC is finally getting ready to produce the first real parts for the Setka A.
