Intended to reduce night-blindness, it perhaps also improves the contrast ratio. Shame about the clarity and streakiness though. The imagery also feels less 'real' to me, less present and immersive, compared to black and white IR mode on the GeowFii.
Note how the poor definition makes the passing plane seem ambiguous far longer than it would've through the GeowFii, which shows shape, coloured nav lights and even contrails immediately. This isn't an upgrade in any way..
