Founded in 1968 and partnered by Rolex since 2002, the event - organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club - is revered as one of the world’s great offshore races. Featuring two active volcanoes – Etna and Stromboli – the 606-nautical mile (1,122 kilometres) race course comprises an anti-clockwise circumnavigation of Sicily and is considered one of the most beautiful in sailing.
