It is a traditional for of Japanese massage therapy that has been used for centuries using trigger points throughout your body not only to release tight muscles but to also help heal some health issues. It can aide in not only identifying but also treating a wide range of issues including stomach problems, menopause, intestine problems, headaches and so many other ailments.

On a trip to Japan, I visited my Shiatsu massage therapist Megumi Okubo. She uses a combination of trigger point therapy and stretching to relax and heal the body. I have been going to her for a few years now – every time I visit Tokyo. She teaches us a few techniques on self-Shiatsu – trigger points that we can use ourselves!
