Dispatch is a game that quietly asks a much harder question: what does it really mean to be a hero?
After playing Dispatch, I realized that its strength doesn’t come from gameplay mechanics alone, but from the weight of its decisions, the narrative, and the responsibility it puts on the player. This video explores why Dispatch feels so special, why it can be so emotional, and how it redefines the idea of heroism.
You play as Robert Robertson, aka Mecha Man, whose mech suit is destroyed during a battle against his nemesis Shroud. Recommended by Blonde Blazer to take a job at a superhero dispatch center—not as a hero, but as a dispatcher—you are tasked with managing a group of rehabilitated ex-supervillains, navigating office relationships, and slowly rebuilding your suit for a chance at revenge.
If you enjoy thoughtful game analysis, narrative-driven reviews, and video essays that go beyond surface-level critiques, this one’s for you.
