The Need For (Spiritual) 'Sedatives' When The 'I' and 'Reality' Are Disintegrating ||

Описание: In today’s video, I’m talking about a point in the awakening process when “reality”, the way we’re used to perceiving, and the “I” begin to disintegrate. I see it as an incredibly important point in the awakening process, where the ‘self’ structure begins its quest for survival, and this is why the whole experience feels scary, destabilising, and emotionally, psychologically, and physically unsettling.

The mind begins to freak out, and knowingly or not, the urge to reach for a “sedative” that will help us feel safe and calm again is strong.

In this video, I’m only speaking about sedatives of a certain kind, like spiritual/non-dual meaning-making, seeking deeper meaning behind suffering and emotional discomfort as a way to avoid it, numb it, distract from it. I’m speaking about transcendence, broadly speaking, as a landing place where the “I” needs to land/rest: Emptiness, Absolute, Awareness, Presence, Unity Consciousness, No Self, etc.

This is not a video aimed at bashing spirituality or spiritual meaning-making, however understood, but rather about a point in the process when that meaning-making serves as a way to avoid the discomfort felt during the disintegration process.
